The Heroes
I am getting Nightfall on Christmas(found when I was snooping) and now I am wondering what heroes to get based on skills. I have been looking on guild wars wiki for some good skills. Only some say that there are Hero skill trainers. Does this mean that I cannot get skills that don't say that for my heroes.
I am going to use Dunkoro (healer), Zhed Shadowhoof(Hydromancer) and Sousuke(Pyromancer) P.S. Where do you get their Secondary professions Last edited by Online Gamer; Dec 23, 2007 at 01:33 PM // 13:33.. |

if you are doing pve, you dont really get to pick....first you get koss, dunkoro, melonni and tahlkora.....you then get to pick between the ranger Jin or the ele sosuke, these all on the starter island (if you start a new elonian character you start with koss and get the others along the way).
when you get to the main land you will get zhed and then a choice between another ranger margrid or a necro master of whispers, next are morghan the paragon and a choice of nogru the mesmer or goren the hammer warrior. If you have factions you can pick up zemai and prophecies: olias (necro). Now if you are pvp I can only tell you which of the heroes are which profession and that any skills you have unlocked for any character/profession will be available to heroes of those classes (except sunspear skills, kurzick/luxon skills etc). So if you have a warrior that has unlocked all the warrior skills they will be available to koss as soon as you pick him up (or goren). eg: When I got nightfall I didnt have any warriors on my account (never liked the way they looked so never made one) so I had only a few bare minimum skills available to koss when I got him, however; I did have a monk who had all the monks skills from both factions and prophecies so when I got dunkoro he was able to use all the skills I had already unlocked with my monk character --including elites. I had some balth faction so I got koss a few skills and one elite until I was able to get more with hero points (you get these by getting levels in sunspear and lightbringer). I eventually just made a warrior for the express purpose of unlocking all of the warrior skills (my rit/w did the trick). hope this helps |

Initially, you only get Koss(warrior), Dunkoro(monk), Melonni(dervish), but then get access to Tahlkora(monk), Zhed Shadowhoof(elementalist), Margrid the Sly(ranger) or Master of Whispers(necro), and finally General Morghan(paragon). There are other heroes you can get if you own prophecies(olias a necro) or factions(zenmai an assassin). You can also pick up Acolyte Souske(an elementalist) or Acolyte Jin(a ranger) from the general at the little pier area as a side quest. Regardless, they are extremely useful. The only place I've found henchies to be better is when fighting Shiro in factions, and that's only because heroes don't get the celestial skills. Even still, certain hero builds are still more useful... |

Sorry if I wasnt clear what I meant was. If you go to wiki for example and click on say fire storm. It tells you where you obtain the skill, through traders, quests capture signets. And some skills say Hero Skill trainers, but not for all. For the ones that don't say you can get it for a hero from a hero skill trainer such as fire storm, does that mean you can't give it to your hero.
Or if you unlock skill in your character can you use them in your heroes template or build Is the Starter Island Istan? Last edited by Online Gamer; Dec 23, 2007 at 02:24 AM // 02:24.. |

Just be aware that the AI of heroes cannot use certain skill combinations as effectively as you can. |

The hero skill trainers that are in Nightfall are special places where you can spend hero skill points that you earn by increasing your Sunspear and/or Lightbringer titles. These points can be used to buy skills that both your heroes and you can use... |

Well, for one thing most parties I'm on want 2 monks - usually a healer and a protection monk, so there you go.
OTOH, maybe you want a death magic necro and a curse necro, so 2 necros would be needed. Perhaps you want a fire magic ele and an air magic ele, or a channeling ritualist and a communing ritualist. There are many good reasons to have 2 of the same profession on the same team... |
